We know the prose ride the best, so it’s no surprise that this year, readers of cyclingnews.com named the Omega Pharma-Quickstep’s McLaren Venge the top bike in the peloton. Earning the Best Team Bike honors for 2012, the McLaren Venge blends the race driven performance and stiffness of the Tarmac with the aero design found on the Shiv TT bikes.
Rounding out the top two, Team Sky’s Pinarello Dogma earned the second spot. Without a doubt, the Dogma2 is one of the most unique bikes on the Peloton, and rest assured – if it’s coming from Pinarello, there’s brains behind the beauty. During this past season, the Dogma2 was seen under the likes of Bradley Wiggins and Mark Cavendish – and while Cavendish can be seen in 2013 on a Venge, you can be sure that the Pinarello’s offering is more than up to par as witnessed by Wiggins’ Tour De France performance.
You may not have dreams of winning a grand tour like Wiggins, tearing up Cavendish on a sprint or riding with the power of Tom Boonen, you can have their bikes. Wheel on in to one of our shops and take a test ride. You’ll soon understand why Specialized and PInarello win top honors, on paper AND on the podium.
